The STEMtastic Challenges are themed STEM projects to encourage learning about a variety of Engineering and Science subjects. They are open to anyone and held monthly. Each challenge has a central STEM theme, with resources, such as books and websites, curated by the Lincoln Library. We encourage learning more about the theme as you build!
Anyone can participate! Challenges are for families, friends, and individuals of all ages. You can make your project as simple or complex as you like! Feel free to adjust the challenge to your level of interest.
Each challenge will be posted at the beginning of the month. The challenge announcement will include the theme, resources, and guidelines. You will have three weeks to complete the challenge, and one week to submit your creation.
If you have any suggestions for future challenges, please let us know through the form below! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfMn_qafiZP7kCKGYAVJ_BhW9PczY38oZCC5rIbBfrgP4QGIg/viewform
To submit, email photos or videos of your creation, the designer’s first name, a brief description of the project, and anything else you would like to add to: stemsubmissions@gearticks.com
Some things you can add to your submission are:
- Favorite parts,
- Any challenges you overcame,
- Something you learned,
- Earlier versions/evolution of the design,
- How you came up with the idea
In the last week of each month, the GearTicks and Lincoln librarians together will select our favorite creations and post them on the GearTicks website! Participants have the chance to win a cool trophy!
